All games at Billingham this Sunday have been cancelled due to pitches being covered in snow and ground frozen. Under 14 game at Durham also cancelled. Under 15 cup match may be switched to Stockton if thier pitches are playable, decision to be made Sat 5pm.

Training for any of teams on Sunday morning will be limited as there is likeley to still be a snow covering and the ground will be frozen, more snow and cold temperatures is forecast.

Coaches will decide and advise what individual teams are doing ie to cancel or train if safe to do so.

On Sunday 7th November ,16 rugby teams from across the region travelled to Durham to take part in the Durham County Sevens Tournament for under 10's. For the last 3 years Durham have won this tournament but this year it was to be a Teesside victory as the final was between Billingham & Middlesbrough. At the final whistle the teams had managed to score 2 tries each so the cup will be shared by Billingham RUFC & Middlesbrough RUFC.

Thanks for everyone sending in results on what was a good weekend.

The Under 7s and Under 8s both went up to Sunderland Tag festival and both came back as plate winners well done to the lads and lasses. First silverware of the season.

Under 9s,10s, 11s and 12s all had a final training session before a busy period of games coming up.

Under 13s had a good victory away at West Hartlepool

Under 14s got beat against a strong West Hartlepool team

Under 15s beat West Hartlepool 40-12 at home with a good performance against last seasons cup finalists.

Under 16s got back to winning ways with a 66-14 away at Durham City. The ref from Durham praised both the performance and attitude of the team. Well done lads and good luck to those going off to represent the County over the coming weeks.

Dads and Lads Touch Rugby - Friday nights

Anyone fancy a game of touch rugby on a Friday night 7pm -8pm please come down get fit and have fun. The sessions are ideal for those wanting to get involved in rugby but without the contact and at a more sedate pace. The session is designed for us old farts but youth players over 12 are welcome to join in with thier dads, uncles, coaches etc. just turn up 7pm and see me, Chris Adnett or Ian Sanderson. Its about time we had some new blood down.

Billingham U10's vs Sunderland U10's Sunday 10^th Oct

This was always going to be a tough test for Billingham as Sunderland showed us last season they are a force to be reckoned with! The game started as expected with both teams really going for it, with Sunderland scoring the 1^st try. Billingham seemed to have all the play in the first quarter but just could not manage to cross the line, however the pressure we were exerting finally told with Harry Thompson crossing for Billingham's 1^st try. The rest of the half was very even with Sunderland scoring just before the break to take a 10-5 lead into half time. The half time team talk from the 2 coaches seemed to do the trick as the 2^nd half kicked off with Billingham taking it straight to Sunderland with Luke Pearson making a fantastic break and scoring in the corner to bring the scores level, Billingham kicked forward from here and some outstanding defence from Sam Wilson and Jake Taylor kept Sunderland scoreless in the 2^nd half and with Billingham adding a further 3 tries through Harry Thompson (2), Sam Wilson and a brilliant solo try from Owain Sudron just before the final whistle gave Billingham a very hard fought and deserved 25-10 victory. Man of the match was Luke Pearson who was all over the pitch and put in a fantastic Captain's performance (definitely had some something to do with that magic water Luke!!!).

Well we are back into a new season and all of our Junior teams had games last Sunday against Hartlepool Rovers except for the U14s as Rovers were short of players.The U16s played at Rovers and won comfortably. The U15s won convincingly 53-3 without being at thier best against a weakened Hartlepool squad.

The U13s had a big crowd for thier first game proper at 15 a-side on a full sized pitch and came out on top 14-10 in a great game.

The U14s picked up a fixture against Acklam, playing at the Campus but lost in a competetive game.

Just training at home for the minis but it was great to see numbers building up and the clubhouse full. We can still accomodate more players particularly 6 and 8 year olds so now is the time to do a bit of recruiting to build on a good start.

End of Season Dinner & Awards

Well we have just under 3 weeks to go!!!

Many will have attended their own teams dinner already but this is your chance to come together as a whole club and reflect on a Great season. Tickets are £15 per head (including dinner) and remember it's a mixed night; so an opportunity to bring your other half and thank them for their support of you and the club throughout the season.

I have had nominations in already for Manager of the Year and Player of the Year but surprisingly not many for Volunteer of the Year. We will also be recognising other individuals who have contributed to the season.

What I have not had in is much information about the teams. I am hoping from a summary after the Youth AGM but if you want your team to be mentioned and included in the video highlights I need your summary of achievements and some photos! Time is running out.

Finally what I need more than anything else is for you to confirm your attendance to either me, Colin Gibson, Budgie, Lisa or Alan T ASAP ... oh an d with your money. J

Well done to the Under 15s who won the County Cup in a thrilling game against Ryton at Durham City's ground. Ryton looked a big strong side and took an early lead with the first try to lead 5-0, but Billingham scored the next 4 tries to lead 26-5 at half-time. The game then reminded me of the U14s final with the opposition, this time Ryton coming back into the game whilst Billingham had a back in the sin bin. Score with 10minutes to go was pulled back to 26-24, but just as we were getting worried Billinghams superior fitness and handling skills came to the fore and two tries both superbly converted by Craig Willis secured the win 40-24. Well done and well desreved to all the squad.

I rushed from Durham to Rovers ground where the U13s were playing Darlington in the Plate final. Missed the start and Billingham were 7-5 up when I arrived. Unfortunately I jinxed the team and Darlington immeadiatly regained the lead with a try to lead 10-5 at half time. Billingham could not maintain there level of performance in the second half and as they tired Darlington extended thier lead and win the trophy. Never mind fellas you have made huge improvements this season and I am sure you can continue improving next year.

Under 12s had anouther successfull tour beating Bridlington 5-0 and Whitby 15-5. next Sunday they go to Darlington Festival to try to bring back silverware again.

Under 14s beat Stockton 45-0 in thier last game of another successfull season.

Some good rugby with a rare home game for the other minis.Under 7s won in preparation for Blaydon festival next Sunday and the Under 9s missed out but will finish off at Darlington festival next Sunday.

Update on the Under 16s

As most of you are aware our Under 16 squad have been stuck in Malta where they were on tour when the Icelandic volcanic ash stopped all flights back to the UK. Well now that the airports are operating again the end is in sight with some of the parents coming home on Friday night and the rest of the lads are due back on Monday 26/03/2010. We look forward to getting them back safe and sound.

The County have been considering thier predicament regarding missing the County Plate final las week and have decided that they should share the trophy with Horden whom they were due to play in the final. So well done lads anouther of our teams with some silverware this year.

So much news regarding our teams to update you on so here goes

Seniors - Congratulations on a great if tense victory over Rovers 15-10 to win the league and automatic promotion to the National Leagues. Great support on the day, with a big contingent from the youth section. I calculate 15 of the 18 players on the day came through our youth section including our latest new boy Tom Kill, so the future continues to look bright.

Under 16s - Unfortunately our U16s were unable to attend Saturday,s celebrations or thier plate cup final against Horden on the Sunday as they are stuck in Malta where they were on tour due to cacellation of flights to the UK due to the Iceland volcanoe. They are hoping to get out on 26/04/2010 and whilst there are worse places to be stranded than Malta I am sure they would prefer to be back home. Apart from getting stuck they have had a fantastic tour winning all thier games including beating Malta Under 19s 34-5.

We have advised the County of thier dilema and asked to postpone thier final but have not heard back yet if it is to be played on an alternative date I think this may depend on when they finally get home.

Anyway all our best wishes to the lads and make sure you get some revision done whilst out there.

Under 17s - should have played thier plate final against Gateshead on Sunday but unfortunately the County in thier wisdom have decided to kick them out of the final and replace them with the team they beat in the semi-final. We had agreed with Gateshead to play the final on 25/04/2010 as we had players unavailable as they were playing representative rugby for the County or North east colleges. The County could not get a venue on 25th so said it had to be played on the 18th as that was now the only date Gateshead could play and asked Consett to take our place, despite the fact we refused to concede. So a very dissapointing end to the season for a team that have had so many cancelled league games and been disrupted by so much representative rugby. however they have shown what they are capable of when they beat the County U17s in a training game recently.

Under 14s - Great win in the cup final 26-12 against West Hartlepool, played at West hartlepool TDSOB ground. Billingham went 12-0 up before a spirited come back by West to make it 12-12. However Billingham upped thier game again to score two terrific converted tries in the last ten minutes to win the gameand retain the cup. THE coach was delighted.

Under 9s - celebrated winning the plate in thier county cup festival, back at the Club on Sunday afternoon. They would have prefered the main cup but were very happy with some silverware from thier brilliant rugby.

Under 10s and 12s - no silverware from thier cup festivals but hopefully some great rugby in the sunshine.

Under 13s - arrived home after anouther successful tour in the Midlands. They were very complimentary about thier hosts Sisson RFC who made them really welcome and should be born in mind for tours next year as a reccomendation from the U13s means they are very good. Not sure how the rugby went but that doesnt really matter on tour.

I would like to send out a call to all members to come down on Saturday; especially all youth coaches and managers; bring your squad down and be a part of a special day. Remember for children under 12, entry is free. In addition this weekend, all youth members who turn up and show their membership card (U16 and below) will gain free entry to the ground; but ........ bring a friend, an aunt, an uncle, your mam and dad, nana and granddad, sister and brother. Daniel Kirby - A Refereeing Success

It is not often at games you hear a good comment regarding referees!! Either ourselves as coaches, supporters or players seem all too often and quickly to comment on the things refs have missed or in our eyes un-fairly made a bad decision. But today I had two other coaches from other teams come up to me and say that " this is the best ref we have had all season". WELL DONE DANNY KIRBY. Billingham rugby club should be proud to have such a good, fair referee and at such a young age too. Its not easy to ref a game and too keep it flowing with such mixed teams as today, he should be very proud of himself. To referee an U16s game, then a mixed U16s v U15s, then 3 teams all playing a mixed U16s game wearing nearly all the same HOOPED banded shirts (looked like a load of hormonal bubble bees buzzing around the pitch), he did himself and the club proud. Hope you go on to greater things refereeing and well done and a big thank you for today.

U15s and U16s were the only teams left at home and due to cry offs neither have a game. We are still trying to get home games organised so turn up at club 10am for home game or training.

So it will be a quiet day at the clubhouse on Sunday which is why we need to make Saturday a very noisey and busy day down the Club. The top of the table clash Billingham V Sandal should be a cracking game which all our junior players will benefit from watching the quality rugby on show. Billingham will benefit from the support and enthusiasm we know our players and parents can generate.So get down to the Club to fill a great weekend of rugby.

On Saturday at 3pm, 18 young men will come together with the future of this club in their hands. Where will you be?

On my last post I mentioned we had 6 games to go, 6 games to win for glory! Well 2 have passed and we have won them both. Wins at home to Percy Park and away at Pontefract have put us in a position where we dare to dream of promotion. We have 4 games left and each one will be a cup final; each one will be as big as the last; each one will take us one step closer. Our destiny is in the hands of a select special few. Our forwards who have found their belief and now feel that they can take any pack and drive them 30 yards at a time. Ask Percy Park? Ask Pontefract? Our backs who have galvanized together into an immovable defensive force following the injuries at Old Crocs.

Well there is no bigger game than this weekend. We are sitting top of North One East on points difference above Sandal. Sandal have a game in hand. This weekend we play Sandal at home. If we win we go 2 points clear. If they then win their game in hand they go level again. Our massive points scored will ensure as long as we win this weekend and the next 3 games we will be promoted champions.

I have spent the last couple of Saturday evenings in the company of the 1^st team. They believe they can win every game! I believe in them! Do you? Success of our Under 15's

Congratulations to Billingham Under 15's who have continued their winning form from September and secured their place in the County Cup Final with a resounding victory over Westoe 44 - 0. This follows last weeks quarter final win over Hartlepool Rovers 30 - 0, which means they have scored 74 points while conceding 0 in the last 2 rounds of the cup. An amazing achievement against some tough opposition. Well done!

Some great results to report from cup games on Sunday 14/03/2010.
U14s beat Horden 57-10 in their Cup semi final
U15s beat Westoe 44-0 away from home in their Cup semi-final.
U16s beat Sunderland 12-7 in the Plate semi final.
That only leaves the U13s who got beat by Blaydon on Sunday, although travelled short of numbers. They play their plate semi final against Sunderland on 11/04/2010 and hopefully get a full house of junior teams in finals.

Please could you give the under 7's a mention on the junior section. They entered their first tag tournament at the falcons on Sunday and were absolutely brilliant. They won their group by winning 3 and drawing 1, scoring 13 tries in the process and were only knocked out by the eventual winners 3-2. They did the club proud and other coaches commented on what a good team they were and how well they played together. So I'd like to say a BIG well done to all 10 lads, they can be extremely proud of themselves and we can look forward to the upcoming tournaments with confidence.

Their group was made up from Morpeth , Percy Park Pumas, Tynedale Pumas and Whitley Bay.

The scores were

Billingham v Morpeth 2-1 Luke Parker and Kieran Sudron both scoring.

Billingham v Whitley Bay 3-3 Luke Parker 2 and Aiden Young 1.

Billingham v Tynedale 5-1 Aiden Young 1, Shane Ellis 2 , Lewis Mallam 1 , Jack Goodman 1.

We won our group but lost in the Quarter final to Westoe 3-2, Shane Ellis scored both tries.

We were upset that we lost but a great day was had by all the children and their supporters who travelled to watch.

Well despite the mud we managed to get a really good days rugby in on Sunday
and managed a clean sweep of victories for the four junior teams. The U14s
progress in the cup after beating Blaydon 14-10, and good wins for the U15s
against Bridlington, U16s at Stockton and U13s against Sunderland.
The U12s lost 28-14 at Darlington and just did not turn up on the day. The
U11s also lost, but were just happy to get playing again after a very long
lay off. The U10s had a training session to prepare for their coming tour
and the U9s had a comfortable victory.
The under 7's played Darlington and Houghton winning both games against
Darlington and losing narrowly to Houghton but they played really well in
all 3 games and it was pleasing to see that they supported each other and
were available for the offload when they were tagged and this got us a few
tries. Kieron Sudron was man of the match as he was good for us and also
played 2 games for Houghton and scored a couple of times for them too.

Despite the wetness we have managed some rugby over the last couple of
weeks. Thanks to those that advise me how they got on it spurs me on to get
accurate info on this notice board.
The Under 7s have been very busy on their travels accompanied by the Under
12s playing at West Hartlepool on 17/01/10 and Acklam last Sunday. Hope they
are getting used to their own company as they are off up to Sunderland on
their own next Sunday as Ryton do not have any tag teams. Doesn't seem to
phase them as I hear they are loving their rugby and generally getting more
tries than the opposition which is the aim of the game.
The Under 12s have had two very good hard earned wins against West 35-0 and
against Acklam 28-14 to start the year off with a bang!!
The Under 9s and 11s have not played yet this year so keep your fingers
crossed for next Sunday.
The Under 10s played at Darlington on Sunday coming back with a convincing
victory.
The Under 13s were by all accounts very rusty and lethargic in their defeat
at West Hartlepool on 17/01/10 but put in an improved performance on Sunday
in their important cup game at home to Westoe. Not enough to get them
through though beaten 15-7 in a close fought game, where the bigger Westoe
forwards just had the edge. Unlucky lads, but still have the plate to play
for.
Under 14s beat Sunderland 52-10 at home on Sunday in a good game to try to
get back into the swing of things
Under 15s had to go all the way to Hull to find a game on Sunday, not seen
anyone yet so don't know how they got on (in fact they may well still be on
their way home)
The Under 16s have had a disappointing start to the new year, knocked out of
the cup by Blaydon on 17th Jan losing 48-10 and last Sunday lost to Acklam.
But they now have a run of home games to help them refocus.
The Youth teams have fared much better in getting games played than the
seniors where there has only been one game in the last 7weeks. However that
was the first team playing at Gateshead last Saturday winning 41-0 and
thanks to Hartlepool Rovers beating Sandal, they have gone back to the top
of the league. They have a big game on Saturday at home to Hartlepool
Rovers, well worth going along to cheer them on.

Under 7s at the Falcons 07/03/10

Billingham Under 7s are playing in the Falcons tag tournament on 7th of
March when they are playing Bath. All kids will receive a complimentary
ticket for the game that follows and parents are able to buy concessionary
tickets for the north terrace for £10 adult £8 concession £3 junior. Tickets
are also available for seating in the West stand costing £20(a) £15(c) £6(j)
If anyone is interested in tickets they should let Steve Simpson or Eirwen
Sudron from the Under 7s know ASAP as it is on a first come first served
basis. We can order as many tickets as we want for family and friends but
have to be quick to have the chance of winning a coaching session from 3 of
the Falcons.

Rainy Sunday

What a nightmare last Sunday, I sorted out all the changing rooms on
Saturday night so I could have a couple of beers and a bit of a lie in on
Sunday morning only to be woken by a constantly ringing phone and a monsoon
hitting the windows. The Under 14s and U16s games were cancelled. The U15s
had a good win against Blaydon playing in terrible conditions on a very good
pitch at the Campus. It's the first time we have used it this year and as
ever we are extremely gratefull to the school for our reciprocal
arrangement.
The under 13s winning streak ended at Westoe who along with the weather
restricted the ball possession to the Billingham backs. The performance was
good though and time to improve before a probable cup encounter in the new
year.
All our minis teams played in the rain at various venues. I reffed the Under
7s against Houghton U7/8 tag team and saw some great play as the lads braved
the conditions without a grumble. I think it was 9 tries a piece when the
onset of another hurricane caused the final whistle to be blown and a mad
dash for the changing rooms. The under 9s were out a little longer but also
finished early.
Ah well we are a winter sport and it is character building. Roll on Sunday
and games in the snow!!!!!

training because of wet pitches last Wednesday. We managed to get training
on for the Minis on Sunday ok so lets hope it holds for the next two weeks
when they have games.

Durham County Cup Draws

We have finally received the county cup draw for all teams u13 through to
u18.
They have ditched the idea of leagues as not enough entries have come in. So
the cup will be a straight knockout with those going out in the first round
going into a plate competion.
Dates we have put in the fixtures have all gone to pot so ignore them.
Although semi-final and final dates will probably be adhered to.
I intend to arrange the games where possible around existing fixtures but in
most cases I anticipate our games to be in the new year.
Highlights
U13s have Blaydon at home in first round so will probably wait until
10/01/10 when due to play them anyway
U14s are away to Horden, who are probably the toughest competition in this
age group. Win this game and we play Hartlepool in the semi-finals, lose it
and we go straight into the final of the plate
U15s get a bye in the first round so play the winners of Durham and Mowden
Park for a place in the final. Two wins will bring the cup home lads!!
U16s have home tie to Horden who we are due to play on 17/01/10
U17s have home draw against Westoe.
U18s are away to West Hartlepool.

Sunday 15/11/09 Results

Billingham hosted the County Under 12s sevens tournament last Sunday which
went extremely well finishing promptly at 1.00pm with all 16 teams getting 4
or 5 good games. Thanks to everyone involved in organisation on the day, you
all did a fantastic job, Thanks to Ray Coulthard and Andy Whitehouse and all
the referees who made the tournament possible. Our boys did really well
getting to the final where they were pipped 10-5 by Sunderland. I know they
are gutted but can be proud of their performance. I reffed the B team in
their plate semi final and was impressed with their enthusiasm, skill and
sportsmanship, overall they have a very good squad, improving all the time.
I haven't heard back from the other minis sevens squads who were playing
away from home but hope they all enjoyed the day played in as good rugby
spirit as we had at Billingham.
The U13s put together back to back victories with a 41-14 win away at
Consett. Sounds like a great performance
U14s did not play but some of the squad did a great job as runners at the
sevens tournament. Many thanks lads
The U15s won away at North Shields in not the best of games
The U16s had a comfortable victory at Yarm to give a clean sweep for those
junior teams playing last Sunday

Seal of Approval Review
On Thursday we will get assessed for continuation of our seal of approval
status. This is not only important for the safety and wellbeing of our
members and the development of the Club it is essential for funding bids.
The Clubs Development plan has been reviewed, updated and an action plan for
the coming year established. Once we have been reviewed these documents will
be put on the Website along with a number of other documents that have been
reviewed in connection with this process. I will let you know when they are
in place.
Rugby Ready Course
To be held at the Club on Monday 2nd November 2009 6.30 - 9.00 Club will pay
for attendance for volunteers ie Managers and assistant coaches.
Photos
On registration day we got team and individual photos of most of our players
and volunteers. I am hoping to put these up on the screen on Sundays and
they will be available for club use. Thanks go to Rob, for the photography
and photos will be available to buy if required contact Alan Thompson or Sue
Rumis for details.
Peter Griffith
Sad news about Peter last week, he was a good friend of the Club and a
champion of junior rugby. He will be missed. Peter's funeral will take place
on Monday
26th at 1:30pm, St Nicholas Church, Guisborough followed by cremation
(family only) at Teesside crematorium.
Durham County Under 16s
Are playing Cumbria at our Club this Sunday 25/10/09. It's a 2pm ko so we
will need to vacate the changing rooms promptly. It should be a good game so
your support would be welcomed particularly if some of our boys are in the
squad.
Sunday Results
Not heard from most of you about results at the weekend but from those I
have pride of place this week goes to the Under 13s who notched up their
first win of the season 29-15 at Sunderland with a thrilling and very
sporting performance. The Under 14s also won at Sunderland hitting the 50
point mark once again. The Under 9s are still in great form. The total
scores from the 3 games against Guisborough were 120 - 10 (24 - 2 tries).
Games for Sunday 25/10/09
Under 13s are home to Durham City, Under 14s are home to Wetherby, Under 15s
and 16s are away at Durham City.
Minis are all at home training.

This weekend there was an incident when a junior member cut himself on a can which had been thrown from the club balcony. The club therefore asks that no child be allowed onto the balcony unless accompanied by an adult. Managers we ask that you ensure your teams are supervised.

Well the good weather continued and all of our teams played a game on Sunday
and overall it was a very good day.
Under 16s had a late cry off by West but picked up a game at Blyth and had a
convincing win
The U 15s had an eventful trip to Bridlington following West crying off
earlier in the week. Sounds like a cracking game Billingham winning 24-15
after being 24-0 up at half time. Good debut by new winger Joel Coulson
bagging a brace of tries.
West Hartlepool did have teams at U14 and U13 who travelled to Greenwood
Road. Billingham U14s were good value for their 45-5 victory and on a good
day for speedy wingers Matty Routh went over for a hat-trick of tries. The
Under 13s lost again, but the Coaches were pleased with their battling
performance and wins will come if they keep working hard and improving.
The Minis went up to Blaydon, one of the stronger clubs at this level and
took the place by storm. Apparently all the action was on the pitches and
not in the car boot sale. All the teams came back with victories with the
exception of the Under 11s, who were short of bodies on the day, but still
gave a good account of themselves and most importantly enjoyed the game.
Pride of place goes to the Under 9s who in their first proper game of
contact rattled up a bucketful of tries and look like they were born to the
game, Well done to all, its going to be a great season

Keeping our house in order

Although the fields are still quite dry it will not be long before we are once again playing in the wet and mud. It has been noted that some players have been going upstairs in the club without changing from their playing kit. On Recruitment day (Sunday 27/09/2009) can we make sure all players set a good example to any new starters and make sure no one goes upstairs unless they get changed.

On another point if anyone takes a plastic drinks bottle out on the field can we make sure they are taken in and put in the bin after the session/game. If these get shredded by the grass cutter they can make and awful mess and be a hazard to our players.

Recruitment and registration day - Sunday 27th September 2009

This Sunday there are no games organised and all teams are having a training
session at home.
We have put posters out in all the schools ( Thanks to Tony Bergum) inviting
anyone wanting to try rugby to come down the club this Sunday
Any new starters will be welcomed to the Club, Bill Woodhouse and myself
will do an introductory coaching session with them prior to bringing to join
in with the squads training session. Alan will welcome parents and answer
their queries over a cup of tea up in the clubhouse and direct them to the
appropriate managers for registration.
During the session we will also be taking team and individual photos. Tony
Burgum is doing the honours, so all teams should have their playing kit on
the day and go over promptly for photos when requested. We will want to take
a photo with all players on at the end so everyone's patience and
co-operation is going to be needed but this will give us a fantastic
resource for match reports, publicity, records etc., however it is of course
voluntary so any individuals with any concerns may opt out.

JUNIOR GREAT NORTH RUN

Eighteen players from the under 12's and one from the U13's competed in Saturdays Junior Great North Run on the 19th September. They were raising money for their end of season tour. It was a fantastic day and the boys were thrilled to see Olympic gold medal winning athletes in action before their race. There was also a host of TV and sports personalities in attendance. The atmosphere was electric under the shadow of the Tyne Bridge, as the sun shone throughout the day. To the race itself, the boys looked fantastic in their team shirts and definitely stood out in the crowd. There were some very creditable performances against a host of Athletic Club members. First across the line for Billingham were Ted Elliott and Ollie Ross in overall positions of 58th and 59th respectively. Not bad from over a 1000 runners. All the boys did very well on a very warm day, and were a credit to the Club. They were all left tired but very happy at the end of the day, we'll be back next year!

Redcar have just cried off the Under 13s game on Sunday as they do not have
a team. I am trying to get a replacement fixture which will be away from
home so retain the same meet time but do not travel straight to Redcar. The
Under 16s game at Redcar is still ok.

Managers and coaches meeting

On Friday 4^th September 7.00pm at the rugby club there will be an informal managers meeting to discuss any issue you have about the new season this will be from 7.00pm till 8.00pm,

After the meeting we hopefully will have an RFU representative present to go over a few issues with us

The coaches will then have an informal meeting around 8.30pm till 9.30pm again to help with any issues about the new season

There will be food served after the meetings

Yes I know most of you are enjoying your summer holidays but the teams are
starting to crank up the training sessions in preparation for what I hope
will be another great season. As far as I am aware the teams are training as
follows ( please let me know if I have anything wrong)

Under 7 & 8s & 9s training Wed nights 6-7.30pm over the summer will switch
to Sundays 10.30am- 12.00 on the 6th September 2009
Under 10s & 11s & 12s training Wed nights 6-7.30pm and will also train on
Sundays 10.30am- 12.00 on the 6th September 2009
